Ron Powlus, Notre Dame
Owner: Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician
Year of Purchase: 1992
Age of Purchase: 14
Jersey Category: Never Lived Up To Hype
Why is It Terrible? : Growing up a Notre Dame fan, the #3 jersey was the one that carried the most weight. This was the jersey of Joe Montana, recently of Rick Mirer, and of many other famous Irish players. The jersey was purchased just as Mirer's time at ND was ending and the Ron Powlus Era was beginning. Well flash forward a few years and Rick Mirer is a megabust in the NFL and Ron Powlus disappoints on about every possible level. You don't see as many #3 jerseys anymore...I think mine ended up being a workout rag.

The #3 ND curse lives on: They were selling them because Darius Walker was having a pretty descent career, only he comes out a year too early and goes undrafted... and the jersey goes to the back of the closet.
Now it's QB Demitrius Jones donning the 3 spot for the Irish.
Curse strikes again....Jones struggled in his first game and has now transferred to the University of Cincinatti.
