Why is It Terrible? : I suppose everyone has that one random player that they like, even though they know that they'll never be good. For me, that player was Jared Jeffries. The first (and to this point, only) Wizards game I attended was December 10, 2004 against the Knicks. Jeffries was put into the starting lineup after Kwame Brown after was suspended a game for conduct detrimental to the team. It was probably a good thing because it was Jared Jeffries bobblehead night. Jeffries went on to have a solid game (12 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists in 28 minutes) and a sweet putback dunk that was the highlight of the night for me. That was the game that started my Jared Jeffries fandom and led to my purchase of a Jared Jeffries jersey a couple years later when I finally had some extra money. Since the only other Wizards jerseys at school were Gilbert Arenas or Michael Jordan, everyone was real impressed that I went outside the box for a Wizards jersey

Then that summer, Jeffries had his soul purchased by Isiah Thomas for $30 million and now the jersey has started peeling at the edges. The memories of Jared Jeffries on the Wizards may last, but the jersey is close to its end.
