JCMJ Terrible Jersey Nominee

Stephon Marbury, Minnesota Timberwolves
Owner: BD of Sports Show On Mute
Year It Was Purchased : 1997 (His rookie year)
Age When Purchased: 11, I was in 5th grade.
Jersey Category: Never Lived Up To The Hype, Played for the Team for like 2 Months Jersey
Why Is It Terrible? Let me start by saying when Marbury and Iverson came into the league everyone immediately grabbed a ride on the Iverson jock. I, however, elected to go with Marbury and managed to collect around 25 of his rookie cards. Well late into the season My mom took my brother and I to Chicago for a Bulls game for my brothers 16th birthday. While in town we went to a massive sporting goods store who's name escapes me. I found a Marbury jersey that was a perfect fit and actually convinced my mom to make the purchase. I wore the damn thing at the least once a week until Stephon forced his way out of Minnesota. Just to be closer to home. He left a team that was heading toward the upper echelon of the Western Conference for New Jersey. My fandom at that point was still the same. I was a fan of his but disappointed as I looked up at my "Da Kids" KG and Marbury poster as well as my Marbury autographed photo. Marbury's ego continued to grow as New Jersey went absolutely nowhere and he was dealt to Phoenix. With a few years he was in the big apple where he always wanted to be. By this point I had no respect for him, having grown up an all. Watching my favorite player make an ass of himself one game after the next. Marbury's talent will never be questioned but what goes on in his head will.
I watched "Starts on Stars: With Stephon Marbury" the other day. And can now understand why he was turned down by so many people before FSN picked up the show. He interviewed Adam Sandler in what was the worst interview I've ever seen. 90% of the sentences that come out of Marbury's mouth make absolutely no sense. He couldn't be any worse if his name was Bryant Gumbel. A guy who was once considered to be the biggest rival of Allen Iverson is no longer anywhere near the conversation when discussing the best point guards in the league. It also has to hurt knowing that Jason Kidd and Steve Nash took the majority of the players he played with deep into the playoffs. While Marbury lead them to nothing but mediocrity.
For the record, I HATE the Knicks. And no longer pay much attention to Marbury at all. It just amazes and disappoints me to see who he has become. Not to mention I doubt any of those rookie cards are worth jack anymore.

For the record, Marbury and his producers turned down MANY networks and settled with FSN because they were the best fit.
In case there is any debate to my comment - I was the the supervising producer. Say what you want about Steph, but until you can host your own show - leave that one alone.
OMG your the supervising producer of that WOW you must have the biggest balls for saying that... oh wait it's under anonymous that said THE SHOW SUCKED. You sir should rename the The Worst Damn Show on Earth Period.
i just gotta disagree with mostly all of what you said. marbury 11 years into his career is still as explosive and fun to watch.. and for the record steve nash has amare in his prime and kidd has vince carter. and now to even compete in the finals you need either a deep roster or 3 superstars.. Ex: pistons spurs celtics, suns, heat
forgot to say the only reason im on this site is because im looken for a timberwolves marbury jersey.. so your dumb
Hey Marco - I am not Anonymous - I also have class - I did not attack you and your work. I just wanted you to get the facts straight.
Angry? The bottom line is you can't dribble a ball like Steph and no one is giving you a show. Steph makes $20 million a year and you can give me change for a $20.
You're boring and you are on the Internet being an angry man who wouldn't have the nuts to say what you said to my face.
Oh yeah, one last thing - you're talking about my work and Steph - that's what you're online talking about... Ha Ha! Think about that...
Now what do you do?
Oh yeah, no one gives a s**t. Cause you don't matter so you put down anyone who actually does.
"I bought Stephon's jersey at the mall..."
Thanks for watching - you're one of the millions who did and I'm sure Steph thanks you for making him even richer.
Quit hating and work on your game. I feel sorry for someone who has to drive to Chicago to buy a jersey...
